House prices to increase 5 to 15 pct
 
KUCHING: The prices of houses in Sarawak are expected to rise by five to 15 per cent by the end of next year, revealed Sarawak Housing Developers’ Association (SHDA) chairman William Wei.

To sell-and-build or build-and-sell?
 
WHEN Malaysia should adopt the “build-then-sell” (BTS) concept seems to be a hot issue these days among housing industry players, especially after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said in 2004 that we should look into the feasibility of adopting it.

But how feasible is the BTS concept when for the past 40 years the inveterate “sell-then-build” (STB) system has been so ingrained in our housing industry?

Sarawak as potential regional export gateway
 
KUCHING - Sarawak holds the potential to become a gateway for neighbouring countries to export their goods, Chief Minister Sri Dr Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud said.

He said Sarawak had what some neighbouring countries might be lacking in, such as modern port facilities, good roads and other supporting infrastructure.
